SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Senior RF/RADAR Field Engineer to support the installation, integration, production, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of RF, microwave, digital RADAR, and Over-the-Horizon Radar (ROTHR) systems. This position supports field operations by conducting electromagnetic interference (EMI) surveys, RF testing, data collection, system installation, and technical analysis to ensure optimal system performance and operational readiness.


Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Perform installation, production, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of RF, microwave, and digital RADAR systems.
  • Perform measurements at geographically strategic locations surrounding each ROTHR Receiver Facility to identify locally generated EMI sources.
  • Develop mitigation techniques for identified EMI sources, prepare mitigation test plans, execute mitigation testing, and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation measures.
  • Collect, analyze, and process data to establish historical electromagnetic environment trends at each ROTHR Receiver Facility.
  • Coordinate field test execution activities, including resource planning, safety briefings, test execution, and documentation.
  • Develop test cases based on system requirements and engineering documentation.
  • Support project implementation planning, including construction logistics, material requirements, labor estimates, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site surveys, area layout, mapping, and supervision of earthwork activities supporting electrical installations.
  • Operate electronic test equipment to collect and analyze test data.
  • Perform electronic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Install and configure hardware components, including antennas, cabling, and test equipment.
  • Perform electrical installation activities, including conduit placement, transformer/disconnect installation, and cable routing.
  • Set up and operate standard or specialized test equipment to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and live system testing.



Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical field.
  • Eight (8)+ years of experience supporting the production, integration, installation, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of electronic systems or equipment.
  • Two (2)+ years of progressively responsible technician experience requiring advanced technical knowledge to solve complex technical problems.
  • Two (2)+ years of experience providing technical guidance to junior technicians supporting the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic systems or equipment.
  • Working knowledge of advanced computer networking, software operations, communications architectures, testing methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Experience operating classified systems.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, including assembly drawings, schematic diagrams, and interconnect diagrams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Thorough knowledge of RADHAZ testing and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) surveys.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience using Rohde & Schwarz ESRP, AN/USM-243, and FieldFox test equipment.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare detailed test reports and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree, depending on contractual requirements.

Position Salary Range: $124,000 - $184,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
