The Physician is responsible for providing quality medical care to Inova Health System patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. This role will also be responsible for conducting comprehensive medical exams, making diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and providing education and guidance to patients on disease prevention and management. Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services for LGBTQ+ patients across the lifespan.
- Deliver evidence-based, culturally responsive healthcare in both outpatient and virtual settings.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Provide preventive care, health screenings, vaccinations, and wellness counseling.
- Develop long-term therapeutic relationships with patients in an affirming and inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including behavioral health, specialty care, nursing, social work, and community partners.
- Promote health education and disease prevention initiatives tailored to LGBTQ+ populations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the continued growth of LGBTQ+ health services within Inova.
Minimum Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Significant clinical experience caring for LGBTQ+ individuals.
- Active Virginia medical license or the ability to obtain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing inclusive, patient-centered care.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing gender-affirming care and LGBTQ+ health services.
- Experience with telemedicine and virtual patient care.
- 2-3 years of experience in Community Health
