About This Role
The Study Abroad Advisor provides guidance and outstanding professional service to students before, during, and after their educational experience abroad. The Advisor informs students, parents, faculty, and staff about various study, internship, service, and research opportunities abroad, while also coordinating program and application processes, participates in campus recruitment and promotion, and communicates with relevant academic and administrative offices. The Advisor position is student orientated, helping expand student access to and participation in global applied learning experiences that support student success and career readiness. About Us Education Abroad falls within the Office of International Programs (OIP) at Kansas State University and advances the university's global mission by connecting students, faculty, staff, and partners through meaningful international education, collaboration, and engagement. OIP supports a vibrant global community by overseeing Education Abroad, the English Language Program, and International Student and Scholar Services, while fostering international research partnerships, academic exchanges, and cross-cultural initiatives. Through comprehensive programs, resources, and support services, we empower students to develop global perspectives, help international students and scholars thrive at K-State, and strengthen the university's impact in Kansas and around the world. Worksite Description This position is On-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho. What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications: * Requires a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience. Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager. The degree requirement ensures candidates possess the intercultural communication skills, academic advising expertise and regulatory knowledge essential for guiding students through complex study abroad processes. These competencies are typically developed and validated only through the comprehensive curriculum and experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program. Preferred Qualifications: * Master's Degree in a field related to International Education or Student Services Additional Role Information: * Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
