Summary:

Goldbelt Glacier Health Services is looking for a Registered Nurse - PACU.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
  • Perform physical exam and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Guide and advise care provided by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Perform nursing services identified in the TO.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

  • Coordinates and communicates with facility staff members to facilitate patient care.
  • Collects, interprets, records, and communicates pertinent patient data relevant to the patient's care before, during, and after surgery.
  • Actively observes patients and takes appropriate action as indicated by problems.
  • Accurately reviews and confirms completeness of patient chart and reports any abnormalities to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent oral communication skills for patient/family education and telephone triage of patients. Telephone and in-person assessment/evaluation includes the determination of optimal time and location for patient management (ER, clinic, homecare) and follow-up care as required. Prescribes and communicates treatment plans and patient teaching in accordance with established protocols.
  • Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity, including telephone contacts, in accordance with requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree/Education: Associates Degree of Nursing / Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Experience: The registered nurse must have a minimum of two-years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience within the last three years.
  • ALS and PALS. These certifications shall be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services under this contract at no expense to the Government.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $97,000.
