| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions admits and serves an eligible, diverse student population regionally, nationally, and internationally. It embraces the university's commitment to attain the quality of students who are able to matriculate and graduate. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions also maintains the integrity of the admissions process; thus ensuring efficient and systematic evaluation of credentials. Through multiple admissions strategies, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions works to ensure that eligible student have access to higher education. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position will support the Undergraduate Admissions Office's commitment to recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling a talented and diverse student body that enables
NCCU to achieve its mission. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
Proven excellence in verbal and written communication. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one settings, as well as in small and large group situations, to a variety of audiences. Ability to prioritize tasks, plan work within the larger contest of known program goals, make thoughtful decisions, and work independently on occasion. Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience in using a student information system (
BANNER,
DATATEL, Admission Pros, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent customer service, oral communication, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively, with a broad range of administrators, staff, faculty, students, and visitors. Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects. Review and manage student applications including contacting applicants regarding procedure compliance, offering guidance, and to ensure on-time submission of required components. Possess the ability to implement recruitment strategies. Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations. Ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all information, files, and records via the
BANNER system preferred. Be able and willing to travel frequently. |
| Minimum Education/Experience |
Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of admissions experience preferred. Degree must be received from an appropriately accredited institution. Experience involving public contact, oral and written communication and the interpretation of policies and procedures preferable in higher education, the field of teaching, student services or a related educational capacity is preferred. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license |

Primary responsibility is student recruitment and data functions with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Reviews, authenticates and makes official admissions decision on behalf of the university. Conducts research on assigned territories and performs analysis of admissions eligibility. Implements recruitment strategies as outlined in the admissions plan in the assigned territory to include high school and community college visits. |

Take on additional recruitment market area: State of South Carolina. Serves at the
MAR (Eagle In Flight) Coordinator which is heavily involved in data management and student/family follow up for this state approved program. |
