Job Description
The Designer / Cutting Table Operator will support the production and fabrication of industrial insulation products by assisting with the design, layout, cutting, and preparation of custom insulation systems. This position will be responsible for operating and maintaining the computerized cutting table, managing material flow, preparing samples, and ensuring production activities are completed accurately and efficiently. This role offers opportunities for growth into estimating, inventory management, procurement, and project support functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Assist with the design and layout of custom industrial insulation pads and related products.
  • Operate and manage computerized cutting table equipment.
  • Load and unload materials onto the cutting table and maintain an organized production area.
  • Prepare and fabricate samples for customers, testing, and project requirements.
  • Interpret drawings, sketches, and production instructions.
  • Verify dimensions and ensure product quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain material inventory levels and assist with material tracking.
  • Coordinate with estimating, engineering, and production personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain organization of digital files, production drawings, and manufacturing records.
  • Assist with packaging, shipping preparation, and logistics activities as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process development.
  • Develop skills in estimating, material takeoffs, inventory planning, and purchasing activities over time.


Basic Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn CAD, design software, and computerized cutting systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with CAD software, drafting, or design programs.
  • Experience operating CNC equipment, cutting tables, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, construction, insulation, or fabrication environments.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material control systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.

Compensation
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
