As a Material Preparation Technician in Houston, you'll be part of the team that keeps production flowing. You'll load materials, check quality, and help meet daily goals. Bring a good attitude and a strong work ethic, and let Staffmark handle the rest.

Material Preparation Technician Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production experience.
• Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or stick) or metal fabrication background required.
• Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and specifications.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and spatial awareness.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
• Forklift experience or certification preferred.
• Experience with Lean, 5S, or ISO environments preferred.
• Ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment.

Material Preparation Technician Job Duties:

• Stage and prepare incoming metal feedstock materials for manufacturing processing.
• Measure, cut, shape, grind, and deburr metal materials using hand and power tools.
• Perform tack-welding on metal components during material preparation.
• Operate manufacturing equipment such as saws, shears, grinders, and related machinery.
• Inspect and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Use forklifts and material handling equipment to move feedstock and finished materials.
• Read and follow work orders, technical drawings, and material specifications.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure material readiness and consistency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all SOPs and safety protocols.
