As a Residential Wireman at Absolute Choice Electric, you will work directly with customers, ask insightful questions, and listen to their needs and concerns in order to understand and address their comfort issues. You will exercise your critical thinking and technical skills and use your decision-making power to develop high-quality solutions for the client. You will advocate for the customer and the business and actively seek opportunities to drive revenue growth. You will provide each customer with a quality experience as you deliver service and repair in their homes. Residential Wireman Responsibilities: Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, and circuits Directing or training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures Maintaining current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations Installing power supply wiring and conduit such as: EMT, Rigid conduit, and strut Connect wiring in electrical circuits ensuring compatibility of components Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment Installation of safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, circuit breaker panels, etc.) Communicating and educating customers of all available options Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or install new systems Residential Wireman Requirements: Valid Driver's license and clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug test Valid Washington State 02 Journeyman card Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems Experience working with hand tools, power tools and electronic test equipment Strong working knowledge of job site safety and exhibits a safety-first approach during all work activities, including driving. High standard of integrity and professionalism Understand schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client Communication and customer service skills / Must have the ability to engage with and actively listen to customers Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Knowledge of current residential wiring methods and requirements Ability to adapt to company standards and policies Working Conditions and Physical Requirements The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions: Move about the jobsite. Move work related equipment. Operate various technological devices, including a computer. Lift 50 lbs. from the ground and pull 50 lbs. of force. Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling and conduit pulling. Work off ladders, man lifts or reach booms. Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a heavy tool belt. Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires. Work in a variety of weather conditions including cold, snow, rain, heat, wind, etc. High noise levels This full-time Residential Wireman position typically works a monthly rotating 4/10 schedule from 7 AM to 5: 30 PM. Occasionally, there are larger or emergent electrical jobs that require you to work overtime. Wage & Benefit Package Compensation is provided according to the current IBEW Local 191 Residential Wireman wage agreement. Base Wage (based on experience): $34.07 per hour Employer-paid benefits: $15.90 per hour Total approximate compensation package: $49.97 per hour Benefits paid by contractor include: Health & Welfare District 9 IBEW Pension Plan National Electrical Benefit Fund (NEBF) (federally administered pension) Apprenticeship & Training (JATC) Contract Administration Fund Labor-Management Cooperation Committee (LMCC/NLMCC) NECA Industry Fund Contribution Overtime: Paid in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.
