As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Pennsylvania State Police, you will step into a role that keeps important operations moving smoothly. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the administrative functions of the Butler Station and Troop Office by completing a range of clerical responsibilities. It helps ensure that records, schedules, and supporting documents are handled accurately and efficiently. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Record Transcription: Transcribe incidents into the Records Management System
  • Document Uploading: Scan and upload attachments into the Records Management System
  • Court Scheduling Support: Assist with scheduling court matters for the station
  • Leave and Holiday Tracking: Maintain accurate records of leave and holiday usage
  • Expense Processing: Process travel expenses for staff as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Two years or more of experience using Microsoft Word.
  • Two years or more of experience preparing and formatting various correspondence, forms, and reports.
  • Two years or more of experience proofreading and editing various types of materials to ensure grammatical correctness and completeness.
  • Two years or more of experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and logs.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
