What to Expect
As a Network Launch Project Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and nimble team who supports projects worldwide. You will be responsible for owning all processes and scopes involved in launching new energy facilities. This includes everything from facility requirements & selection, layout & design, approvals, to commissioning the new site and decommissioning the old. You will need to be organized, analytical, and comfortable working cross functionally. You uphold a rigorous technical standard-not just for yourself, but for your team-and can clearly articulate the rationale behind that standard, ensuring quality, scalability, and long-term impact.
What You'll Do
- Own the timeline and deadlines throughout each project and hold relevant stakeholders accountable to their key checkpoints
- Liasion with Real Estate, understand surveys, technically adept on utility infrastructure
- Create building layout, project budget, and bid package including test fit and storage plans and gain approval from the local team and leadership
- Manage Due Diligence, permits, and construction with GCs and contractors to ensure projects are to standards and code and on budget
- Extract true requirements from stakeholder inputs; distinguish between hard constraints, preferences, and assumptions. Convert complex, multi-stakeholder needs into clear, actionable engineering scope that the team can execute against
- Manage the commissioning/decommissioning process to ensure a smooth transition for all teams including crews, field service technicians, and office personal
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, construction management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with effective reasoning and judgment skills. The ability tell a comprehensive data driven story to Sr Leadership and Finance partners to gain approvals
- Ability to read, write and interpret contract documents, plans, bids, specifications, POs and requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capitalize on project opportunitiesevaluating facility trade-offs quantitatively, not just qualitatively
- Ability to Travel 15-25% of the time
- Thorough understanding of project management and design software such as: MS Projects & Planner, Visio, Excel, Powerpoint, Bluebeam, AutoCAD 2D, etc[NS4]. Ability to quickly learn and use Tesla specific software and programs
- Minimum 7 yearsof professional experience in infrastructure or facility design and have demonstrated fluency across engineering disciplines, you can challenge specialists with informed questions, not just defer to them, fire protection engineering and/or occupancy permitting experience is a plus
