Patient Registration Representative Position Summary We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused *Patient Registration Representative* to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming experience while ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and appointment coordination.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities * Greet patients, visitors, and business partners with professionalism, courtesy, and compassion. * Facilitate patient flow from arrival through check-in and final destination in an efficient and timely manner. * Accurately locate and register patients within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. * Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility for services. * Maintain a strong customer-service focus during both in-person and telephone interactions. * Support the checkout process and schedule follow-up appointments as needed. * Answer general questions related to laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology services. * Ensure accurate documentation and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. * Assist patients with navigation throughout the facility and provide support as needed. Required Qualifications * Minimum of *2 years of customer service experience*. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff. * Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. * Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and de-escalation skills. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. * Comfortable learning and utilizing healthcare technology systems, including EMR platforms. Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in patient registration, healthcare administration, medical reception, or a related healthcare setting. * Experience with EMR systems, including Epic or similar platforms. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. Physical Requirements * Ability to walk throughout the facility during the workday. * May be required to lift or transport supplies and equipment. * Assist with escorting patients throughout the facility. * Ability to push wheelchairs and provide mobility assistance when needed.
