Requisition Number:R160614 Health Educator- Grant Funded- Flex (Open) How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:The Health Educator plans, develops, presents and evaluates community health education programs and activities held in the communities served by Carilion Clinic. Provides and manages health education programs that help individuals, families, and their communities maximize and maintain healthy lifestyles. Functions as a team member to advance Carilion Clinic's goals through health education and by serving as a resource on community health issues. Works collaboratively with minimal supervision. What We Require: Education: Bachelor's Degree in health education, public health, health communication, health promotion, or another health-related field is required. Master's Degree in Public Health preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience required. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) designation or eligible to sit for the CHES exam within the first three years of employment preferred. Virginia Driver's license required. CPR & First Aid Certification required within 6 months of hire into the position. Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Ability to implement programs that reach community members of all ages, with diverse backgrounds, and with low socioeconomic status. Well-organized, proficient at multi-tasking and working with minimal supervision. Must possess excellent organizational skills and proficiency in written and verbal communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Job often requires working outside Carilion Clinic facilities and travel to sites within the Clinic's service area. Must provide own transportation. Compensation Range: $23.97 - $35.96Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience.
