A well-established construction services company is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support its Accounting/Finance department in its Wadsworth, Ohio office. Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Accounting/Finance team. This person will assist with data entry, document management, financial reporting support, payroll-related tasks, insurance requests, and general departmental operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling sensitive information, communicating with internal team members, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the Accounting/Finance department, including data entry, filing, and document management
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports, invoices, and related documents
  • Process and prepare weekly payroll, union reports, and verify and record information on certified payrolls
  • Process insurance requests and assist with monthly OCIP recording
  • Handle incoming calls and emails, directing them to the appropriate team members as needed
  • Manage office supplies and ensure the department is equipped with necessary materials
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Previous administrative experience preferred, ideally within an accounting or finance environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience with union payroll processing preferred
