Department Marketing Statement: Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises (HDAE) is a part of the Division of Administrative Services. It plays a vital role in the university's pursuit of excellence by delivering a comprehensive array of essential services to students, staff, and other customers through a large-scale auxiliary services operation with annual operating and capital budgets exceeding $200 million and capital and major maintenance reserves of $40 million. Operating 24 hours a day, year-round, HDAE provides housing for more than 10,000 students, faculty, and family residents on campus and supports an additional 9,300 students living in adjacent communities. HDAE serves approximately 21,000 customers daily through its retail and board dining programs, manages key campus facilities including the University Center, Campus Store, the Events Center, and the Club & Guest House, hosts 150,000 guests annually for conferences and meetings, and oversees the administration of transportation, parking, and fleet services. Learn more about the benefits of working at UC Brief Summary of Job Duties: Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Campus Dining Engagement Coordinator performs a wide variety of communication and marketing duties and engagement activities related to the mission and goals of Campus Dining to improve the dining experience for residents, staff, faculty, and campus visitors. Coordinates activities, including events, promotional materials, and products designed to promote awareness of Campus Dining activities. Promotional material includes print publications, event programs, internal newsletter/s, article appearances and presentations. Act as Campus Dining's representative in campus wide initiatives such as Open House, Welcome Week, Parent and Family Weekend, student orientations, etc. Conducts or coordinates outreach activities at various programs and resource fairs. Conducts marketing analysis: researches, analyzes, monitors and evaluates marketing communicating outcomes to the appropriate dining teams. Develops and maintains relationships with other collegiate and food service resources such as NACUFS, NACAS, UC partners, CSU partners and National Restaurant Association. This position is specifically assigned to Campus Dining and serves as an account executive for all Campus Dining marketing and engagement needs. -Focuses on development and execution of engagement activities within Campus Dining, specifically focused to improve the undergraduate and resident experience. -Develops program promotional material to build interest and awareness for on and off campus participants with our Dining program. -Coordinates activities including events and promotional materials and products designed to promote awareness of Campus Dining activities. Promotional material includes print publications, event programs, internal newsletter, articles appearances and presentations. -Plans and develops opportunities for event appearances, partnerships, cross promotions and tabling's to promote dining program offerings. -Identify and coordinate development of submittals and applications for varied awards, recognition and/or program profile pieces that will assist Campus Dining in earning program accolades. Coordinate an annualized structure of programs and promotions. -Coordinate resources appropriately to the segmented markets being served at each event. -Responsible for the management and direction of all marketing and communications for Campus Dining. -Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the coordination of all graphics and marketing needs within Campus Dining. The incumbent will ensure web outlets, digital signage, signage, and any other branded material is in presentable shape with accurate and timely information. -Develop specific articles, submittals, and varied other collateral specific to departmental goals, target audience and identified needs. -Development of cohesive programs that may target specific audiences and/or avail specific offerings while maintaining a coordinated brand standard. -Responsible for events and other public programming within our dining locations. Coordinates the participation of contract partners for sponsorship and showcasing program attributes. Monitors contract promotional product donations and utilization. -Achieve event goals of: 1) attracting students and staff to dining locations 2) enhance the student experience 3) foster educational opportunities in program design 4) build a sense of community 5) meet or exceed operational performance goals -Act as Campus Dining's representative in campus wide initiatives such as Open House, Welcome Week, Parent and Family Weekend, student orientations, etc. Conducts or coordinates outreach activities at various programs and resource fairs. -Works with student ambassadors to develop an appropriate social media presence. -Maintains and supports campus brand standards. Follows and supports departmental brand standards, maintaining an effective and cohesive look and feel for department materials. -Administers marketing budget as assigned, ensuring that budget goals are met. -In collaboration with the entire dining team, provides comprehensive resolution to problems, complaints, issues and/or concerns from constituencies. Analysis -25% -Researches, analyzes, monitors and evaluates marketing reporting results to Campus Dining's Sr. Leadership. Incumbent will be responsible for providing feedback to Dining operations teams to help hone and develop offerings that remain pertinent to the campus community. Incumbent designs and conducts market research to assess needs & preferences of various patron groups. -Maintains connections with other university programs to glean best practices and maintain a connection to collegiate trends. -Develops goals and forecasts for program participation and campaign efficacy. -Provides work leadership and effective delegation to student ambassador team to achieve program initiatives. -Leverage various data sources to ensure effective analysis of various programs and campaigns including but not limited to Campus Dining social media/web site analytics, IT system records and related campus systems . -Incumbent will track effectiveness of marketing concepts and adopt best practices vetted from industry partners and successful initiatives. Maintains knowledge of industry best practices and benchmarks. Assesses program offerings based on trends and provides recommendations to Sr. Leadership. -Develop quarterly and annual reports for major accomplishments statistics from programs, initiatives, and partnerships program attendance, market research and any other results critical to continued innovation and success of the program. -Develops and maintains relationships with other collegiate and food service resources such as NACUFS, NACAS, UC partners, CSU partners and National Restaurant Association.
