This role provides daily supervision and direction to the engineering team, supports building systems and preventative maintenance programs, helps manage vendors and compliance requirements, and serves as a key hands-on operational leader within a high-traffic, open-air retail environment. The Assistant Chief Engineer is expected to actively participate in troubleshooting, repairs, emergency response, and field execution while helping ensure engineering standards and service expectations are consistently met. Monitor the performance and condition of major systems, including HVAC, central plant, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems, and escalate repair, replacement, and capital improvement needs to the Chief Engineer as appropriate. Assign, prioritize, and inspect work performed by engineering and maintenance personnel to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with company standards and operational priorities.
