Location: Fort Meade, MD

Position Summary

LAUKOA is seeking a qualified Journeyman Licensed Plumber to support facilities operations at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and testing of plumbing systems and related equipment in Government-owned facilities. The selected candidate will ensure plumbing systems are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition while complying with contract requirements, applicable codes, and established safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and repair domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related plumbing systems.
  • Install, repair, and replace piping, valves, fixtures, pumps, water heaters, backflow prevention devices, and associated plumbing equipment.
  • Respond to service calls and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, labor, and materials.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance personnel to support facility operations and maintenance activities.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other trade-specific equipment safely.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while complying with all environmental, safety, security, and contract requirements.


Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a current Journeyman Plumber license recognized by the State of Maryland or a reciprocal jurisdiction acceptable to the State.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing commercial or institutional plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Experience maintaining plumbing systems in commercial, industrial, institutional, or Government facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Working knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, fixtures, piping systems, and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and industry best practices.
  • Ability to diagnose plumbing system malfunctions and perform effective repairs.
  • Basic computer skills sufficient to receive work assignments, enter data, and complete required documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.


Security Requirements



  • Must possess and maintain an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, materials, and equipment consistent with the duties of the position.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated platforms, kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding plumbing work for extended periods.


Wage Rate



  • Between $60.00- $80.00 per hour (included is $5.09 for Health & Welfare)
