About the opportunity
Join QIAGEN as an Intern in the Discovery (QDI) team and gain hands-on experience at the intersection of life sciences and artificial intelligence. In this 4-week, on-site internship based in Redwood City (RWC), you will contribute to an innovative initiative focused on improving product licensing processes. The project centers on using AI-leveraging tools such as Claude-to automatically generate tailored license text aligned to specific product portfolios. This helps ensure customers receive precise, relevant license agreements while avoiding unnecessary legal content.
Your tasks include
  • Support the development of AI-driven solutions to generate product-specific license text
  • Work with product portfolio data to align generated licensing content accurately
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) to automate and refine text generation workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., legal and product teams) to understand licensing requirements
  • Test, validate, and improve generated outputs for clarity and relevance
  • Document workflows, learnings, and recommendations for future scalability
Your profile
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Strong interest in AI applications, natural language generation, and automation
  • Comfortable working with digital tools and experimenting with AI platforms (e.g., Claude or similar)
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of programming or scripting is a plus
