What's the Short Version?

The System Administrator, Distribution is responsible for working directly with stakeholders in Distribution, IT, other SanMar Business areas, and external vendors to design, deliver, configure, maintain, and support the technology-based solutions of SanMar's distribution facing systems and processes. This position plays a critical role in optimizing DSaP solutions for stability, redundancy, and performance. These systems encompass Korber Supply Chain (HighJump), BluJay Parcel (Kewill), voice and RF hardware, label generation tools, printing hardware and media, conveyors, material handling equipment, and other third-party solutions, including their associated infrastructure.

What Will You Be Doing?



  • Work closely with IT support analysts, DC staff, and Distribution Systems team members to quickly research, diagnose, and troubleshoot real-time issues, including equipment, platform, or application related issues.
  • Provide day-to-day delivery of system features and functionality to improve Distribution performance, throughput, and quality.
  • Design, code, debug, and unit test Distribution facing systems.
  • Provide Tier III functional support for Distribution or IT related incidents with the awareness to escalate to other technical resources as appropriate.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and update platform and infrastructure components as required.
  • Deliver device and peripheral training and assistance to Distribution staff as necessary.
  • Offer onsite hands-on support and guidance for floor-level implementations, enhancements, and issue resolution as needed.
  • Aid in coordinating, scheduling, and allocating resources for software and hardware upgrades.
  • Communicate project status and incident resolution steps to relevant stakeholders.
  • Define and document test cases as needed for build verification; engage in cross-functional build and User Acceptance Testing activities as necessary.
  • Produce high-quality documentation on systems, tools, and processes for internal team and IT Service Desk utilization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.



What Are We Looking For?



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years experience with SanMar specific systems or equivalent industry solutions
  • RDMS experience with MS SQL Server and MySQL
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Solid subject matter expertise on the functional use of technology-based distribution systems
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration
  • Ability to write intermediate to advanced queries using SQL server or MySQL
  • Ability to develop and deploy system enhancements utilizing SDLC and source control tools
  • Knowledge of integration, middleware, and/or messaging topologies
  • Understanding of network technologies such as load balancing, network/socket communication
  • Demonstrated ability and flexibility to quickly, and constructively, adapt to change and ambiguity in the work environment
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
  • Organized, thorough, detailed, self-sufficient problem solver
  • Appropriate sense of urgency and prioritization with a passion for problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of individuals across the company and external vendors

  • Ability to plan strategies to maintain system performance, redundancy, and stability
  • Flexible with schedule, able to provide off-hours support either remotely, or onsite, as needed



What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $80,170 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience.

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Remote: Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Periodic travel may be required. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and participating in virtual and in-person meetings. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and standard office equipment is required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed to attend meetings or collaborate in an office setting. The role requires the ability to perform close visual work on a computer for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds.
