Responsibilities

Highlights of Responsibilities:

    Serves as the J6 MME enterprise Mac systems engineer, independently designing and governing Mac infrastructure architecture, configuration management, and operational policy for approximately 303 Mac computing devices across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and higher classification networks; provides senior engineering technical authority to the reactionary team on complex Mac system and service outages.
  • Independently architects, configures, and governs the JamfPro platform including policy structure, smart group management, software distribution workflows, patch management policy, and enterprise enrollment architecture; exercises independent judgment on all JamfPro configuration decisions affecting Mac enterprise operations.
  • Independently develops, evaluates, and deploys Mac workstation and server core images for new Mac OS releases; exercises independent engineering judgment on image configuration, baseline standards, and software integration; produces and maintains the monthly image update schedule and status documentation provided to Government.
  • Independently manages the STIG and IA Vulnerability Management compliance architecture for all Mac systems; develops SCAP content baselines, independently evaluates vulnerability scan results, determines remediation priority, and governs the path to 95% patching compliance; reports status in the weekly Mac Services Status Report.
  • Performs DISA STIG technical reviews for Mac systems; independently evaluates STIG and IA Vulnerability Management compliance configurations; exercises independent judgment on remediation approach, independently validates compliance outcomes, and presents findings and recommendations to Government.
  • Independently develops and maintains as-built documentation, architecture diagrams, and engineering design records enabling repeatable Mac system installations; produces the monthly Mac Management Report covering MME architecture changes, completed maintenance, planned Change Requests, and imaging projects.
  • Leads Mac OS and iOS pilots, IPRs, and working groups; independently evaluates prospective Mac software and hardware solutions, assesses security and operational risk, and provides Government with written draft and final design recommendations; exercises independent judgment on technology suitability and integration approach.
  • Independently designs, executes, and documents all Mac solution testing in the Government-approved enterprise test environment; exercises independent engineering judgment on interoperability, performance, availability, and security acceptance criteria before recommending production deployment to Government.
  • Provides expert-level engineering advisory guidance on complex Mac system cases requiring independent root cause analysis and architectural remediation; independently determines diagnosis, resolution strategy, and any required infrastructure changes to restore service in accordance with Section 7 Performance Standards.
  • Independently develops training materials and technical documentation for all Mac OS software and hardware configurations; exercises independent judgment in designing and implementing custom application solutions for user requirements when directed by Government; governs all MME C&A documentation.
  • Performs hands-on Mac Tier III/IV engineering interventions only when required to validate independent engineering decisions or where subject matter expert authority cannot be delegated; this function is strictly incidental to the primary engineering design, governance, and advisory duty.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Shall possess at the time of award a Secret security clearance
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into PC and software issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related technical field.
  • Required Experience: 7 or more years of progressively responsible experience in Mac enterprise systems engineering, with demonstrated advancement into independent design, architecture, or systems governance functions.
  • Experience supporting a DoD or J6 customer is a plus.
  • Certification:
    • ITIL v4 Foundations, CompTIA Security+, Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
  • Preferred:
    • Apple Certified IT Professional (ACITP), Jamf Certified Tech, CompTIA CASP+

FLSA Classification Notice: This position is classified Exempt under the Administrative Exemption, 29 C.F.R. * 541.200. The candidate's primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual systems engineering work directly related to J6 Mac enterprise management, and the primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, including Mac infrastructure architecture, JamfPro platform governance, STIG compliance design, and independent engineering recommendations affecting J6 Mac enterprise operations.
