Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements:

BHCC seeks full-time faculty committed to teaching, student success, and innovation. Candidates should have experience with diverse adult learners, assessing learning outcomes, and using technology. The College values faculty who engage in advising and campus life and who are flexible in teaching across locations and in both in-person and online formats.

Position Description:

BHCC is seeking a Chair and Program Director for its two American Bar Association (ABA)-approved programs: the Paralegal Studies A.S. Degree and the Paralegal Certificate Program. The Chair and Program Director is responsible for teaching, program oversight, maintaining ABA accreditation, student recruitment, advising, and supporting the continued growth and development of the Paralegal Programs.

Specific Duties:



  • Provides academic leadership and administrative oversight for Paralegal faculty and students.
  • Advises students and leads recruitment and outreach efforts to increase enrollment and strengthen the Programs.
  • Teaches using varied, outcomes-based methods that promote critical thinking and integrate technology. Manages ABA accreditation, supports curriculum development, and engages in professional development.
  • Participates in advisory board activities and supports internships and career placement efforts in coordination with Career Services.
  • Complies with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Requirements:



  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and license in good standing to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with active and experiential learning preferred.
  • Experience using educational technology or other electronic resources in teaching preferred.
  • Ability to support a diverse student population from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • College-level teaching experience in Paralegal Studies required; community college teaching experience preferred.
  • While not required, multilingual skills are a plus, including the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language.


Additional Information:

Salary: $70,000 - $76,264. (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate with Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.)

Full State Benefited position.
