| Summary of Position: |
The College of Health Professions invites applications for two full-time, non-tenure-track clinical faculty positions to provide technical assistance and ongoing support for students across laboratories and clinical teaching, including oversight of direct patient care and experiential learning environments, for 30 hours per week. Responsibilities will extend beyond course instruction by an additional 10 hours per week to include student mentoring, one-on-one and small-group engagement, assessment activities, community and clinical partner engagement, travel associated with experiential sites, and curriculum continuity. These are 9-month positions with an anticipated start date of August 2026; however, this estimate may be revised if needed.
The selected candidate for this position must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire without employer assistance or sponsorship now or in the future. The university will not assist with any F-1 EADs, OPT, H-1 B, etc. |

| Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: |
Master's Degree in dental hygiene, education, or a health-related field. Five years of clinical dental hygiene experience. Two years of clinical/laboratory teaching experience. Certified or Registered Dental Assistant OR membership in a dental or dental hygiene professional organization. |

| Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Provide direct instruction to students in laboratory, clinical, and/or off-site settings, including teaching assigned lab/clinic sections and delivering demonstrations of clinical procedures. * Teach, supervise, and mentor students in hands-on clinical and community-based environments, including oversight of direct patient care and, when appropriate, the delivery of oral health education activities, while ensuring the development of technical skills, critical thinking, and professional practice. * Guide student learning by providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and evaluation of performance in laboratory, clinic, and community-based settings. * Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to support student learning, reinforce course content, and enhance clinical competence. * Assess student learning through the administration and evaluation of practical exams, process evaluations, and other competency-based measures. * Support student development in patient care by evaluating patient needs and instructing students in the development of appropriate treatment plans. * Facilitate student learning in diverse environments, including on-campus, off-campus, and online settings as needed. * Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance to support evaluation and accreditation requirements. * Assist in preparing instructional materials, coordinating laboratory/clinic activities, and supporting sterilization duties to promote student learning and efficient clinical operations. * Provide instruction to students in areas such as infection control, sterilization, radiography, and proper use of clinical equipment within the context of patient care. * Support the implementation and continuous improvement of clinical teaching methodologies and educational practices. * Ensure a safe and effective learning environment by modeling and reinforcing proper safety protocols and clinical procedures. * Clinical faculty members also have professional responsibilities in patient care and clinical instruction, which may include being accessible to students outside of regular clinical assignment hours. Participation in traditional functions that have academic significance, which includes assessing students' clinical proficiency in accordance with university systems and guidelines. Clinical faculty are required to provide in-person instruction. Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment. * Carries out responsibilities in accordance with university policies and applicable laws. * Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty, and staff to thrive authentically. * Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives. * Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. |

* Maintain current knowledge in dental hygiene practice, infection control, and safety standards to support high-quality instruction. * Participate in program and departmental meetings, committees, and activities that support student success and program effectiveness. * Assist with student recruitment efforts, including program tours and outreach activities. * Maintain confidentiality of student and patient information. * Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position |
