Join our Pediatric Acute Care team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of infants, children, and adolescents during their hospital stay. Pediatric acute care experience is preferred.

The Physical Therapist I provides evidence-based physical therapy evaluations, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for pediatric patients with a wide range of diagnoses, disabilities, and impairments affecting movement, development, functional mobility, and participation in daily activities. The therapist collaborates closely with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to establish individualized goals and optimize patient outcomes.

This role will include providing patient and caregiver education, performing evidence-based evaluations and treatment interventions, developing individualized plans of care, and progressing treatment strategies based on patient needs and outcomes. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals to support coordinated, family-centered care. Responsibilities also include discharge planning, equipment and service recommendations, student mentoring, participation in clinical education and quality improvement initiatives, and engagement in departmental and community outreach activities that advance pediatric rehabilitation services.

Schedule: Either Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday, with rotating holidays

Responsibilities:
1. Completes physical therapy documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines.
2. Administers tests and measures to assist in establishing a plan of care and interventions and manages resources to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
3. Mentors assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines.
4. Provides clinical precepting and teaching for students and/or staff under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts. Provides regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Evaluates the learner's performance.
5. Assists in the planning and coordinating of clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

Education Requirements:
* Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
* BLS within 3 months of hire date.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* No prior experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
