Responsibilities

Meridell Achievement Centeris a 134-bed, seclusion free, psychiatric residential treatment facility located northwest of Austin. Our 60-acre campus is complete with mature oaks, rolling hills, and plenty of walking paths and outdoor spaces. We have 7 unique living units separated by gender, age, and development needs with a swimming pool, gymnasium, sports court and playing fields.We provide 24-hour psychiatric care to girls and boys ages 10 to 17 years old with customized therapeutic approaches and intensive behavioral programs to teach young patients to moderate their behavior, manage emotions and improve social functioning.

As a BCBA at Meridell Achievement Center you can expect to:

  • Design, implement and support education and behavioral programs.
  • Participate in the assessment and data analysis of behavioral programs.
  • Assist with intervention and therapeutic program evaluations.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge base of community resources for population served.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge base of age specific interventions for populations served.
  • Participates in department and facility Performance Improvement activities.
  • In addition to direct work with children, families and school representatives, this position requires report writing, attending meetings, staff meetings and regular communication with management.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • Master's degree in behavior analysis, education, psychology or a similar educational degree required.

Experience:

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism.
  • Experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA) for children within clinical or home-based environments.
  • Experience with data collection methods and maintaining detailed clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities is highly desirable

Licensure/Certification:

  • Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Current driver license.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health, medical documentation processes, and medical records management.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral psychological assessments, functional assessment procedures, and behavioral health strategies.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and principles.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments and conduct diagnostic evaluations effectively.
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
