Location: Mt. Sterling, IL

Department: Payroll

Reports To: Payroll Manager

Wage Range: $18.35 to $27.53 per hour, plus bonus opportunity

As an HR Coordinator in Payroll, you will process company employee payroll, including taxes and reports for regulatory compliance and management purposes, in an accurate and timely manner.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Assist in accurately processing weekly payroll, manage wage garnishments and other involuntary deductions, and termination-related procedures, while ensuring compliance across U.S. and Canadian operations
  • Prepare reporting and conduct audits of employee timecards, earnings, deductions, and taxes before payroll processing.
  • Calculate and process bonuses, retroactive pay and other special earnings.
  • Provide support in reconciling W-2s, and assist in maintaining comprehensive records to support compliance and reporting needs
  • Train new employees and managers on payroll and time and attendance systems and support the onboarding of the new payroll staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and compensation information.
  • Respond to manager and employee inquiries regarding any payroll issues or concerns
  • Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.


YOU MUST HAVE



  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree
  • Trustworthiness to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees and other departments
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products


YOU MAY ALSO HAVE



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Customer service skills to serve employees in an appropriate manner
  • Previous experience in Payroll


ROLE SPECIFICS



  • Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00-5:00
