MTSI is currently seeking Senior Congressional Analyst, you will be the primary point of contact in the office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Acquisition (ASW(A)) supporting all congressional tasking and engagements.You will interact daily with senior leaders across the Department of War to collaborate and execute on Department priorities.
You'll be a great fit for this role if you have:
*A passion for defense policy and appropriations.
*Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships across different stakeholders.
*Experience briefing senior leaders.
*Staff experience in Congress, lobbying, or similar roles in the Department of War.
Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Developing an annual Congressional engagement strategy.
  • Tasking, coordinating, and reviewing requests for information, informal views, and technical assistance from the Hill.
  • Preparing senior leaders for testifying on the Hill and engagements with Congress
  • Leading analysis of the defense authorization and appropriations bills.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Department to include OSW Legislative Affairs and Comptroller.
  • Track Congressional mandated reports to ensure timely responses to the Congress.
Qualifications Required:
  • 7 years of experience supporting senior DoD leadership and components in legislative, policy, or strategic advisory roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing high-volume, high-visibility Congressional taskings and engagements.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze legislative language and effectively communicate its impacts to senior military and civilian officials.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of producing executive-level correspondence.
  • Strong organizational abilities and significant experience implementing enterprise-level process improvements.
  • Demonstrated capability to operate with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism in politically sensitive environments.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A Master's degree can be substituted for 2 years of experience
Even better if you have these desired skills:
  • Experience working on Capitol Hill.
  • Experience working similar roles in the Department of War.
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
The pay range for this position is $XXX,XXX/year to $XXX,XXX/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, jobrelated knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
