THE POSITION

As a Corrections Community Center Monitor with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will contribute to a secure environment where reentrants can work toward personal progress. The York Community Corrections Center (CCC) seeks individuals dedicated to providing supervision, structure, and daily guidance that supports successful re-entry. This position plays a key role in helping participants build habits that lead to safe and steady transition back into the community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Corrections Community Center Monitor provides care, custody, control, monitoring, and supervision of reentrants while ensuring the safety and security of the state-operated York Community Corrections Center. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties:
- Safety and Security: Maintain safety by observing behavior, logging activities, conducting counts, and performing searches of reentrants and living areas
- Inventory Management: Maintain and inventory medications, security equipment, tools, chemicals, and housekeeping supplies
- Movement Control: Manage sign-in and sign-out procedures and oversee reentrant and visitor movement within the center
- Orientation Duties: Conduct orientation for new reentrants, review rules, assign rooms, explain services, and assign housekeeping duties
- Accountability Testing: Administer breathalyzer and urinalysis tests and document results to support compliance

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must successfully complete classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
- You must be willing and able to work in York, York County, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military)

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
