POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of and in conjunction with the Director of Supply Chain and Operations, the Operations Manager supervises and oversees overall hose shop and warehouse operations, production, warehouse and hose shop inventory levels and needs, and hose shop material levels and needs. Responsible for the day-to-day execution of the Company warehouse and hose shop operations, policies, procedures and recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Responsible for providing work direction to assigned personnel. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Monitors demand vs. plan, inventory levels, customer service levels, capacity utilization, forecast accuracy, on time delivery, purchase price variance and other key performance metrics and take appropriate action when necessary to meet objectives.
  • Develop business processes which will improve overall supply chain performance while satisfying current demands and minimizing total supply chain costs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the supply chain from suppliers and negotiate, implement, and maintain supply contracts when deemed necessary; responsible for all purchasing activities and develops strategies to maximize customer service when supply disruptions or shortages are anticipated.
  • Develop inventory strategies for current markets served and new product launches to ensure product availability, prevent stock outs and to minimize excess and obsolete inventories.
  • Analyze broker vs buy options to ensure company is time, quality and cost competitive to the market.
  • Ensure planning, purchasing, inventory and warehousing ERP parameters are complete and accurate.
  • Manages product phase outs to minimize financial liabilities.
  • Managers new product phase in to optimize inventory return on investment.
  • Financially responsible for departmental budgets, material standard costs, warehousing headcount and inventory forecasts, while ensuring performance to budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all Domestic/International Federal, State, Local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Proven ability to analyze and plan inventory and supplier activity to meet customer requirements while minimizing inventory investment and total supply chain costs.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and warehouse operation cost drivers that affect financial performance (lead times, inventory drivers, transportations costs, and material and product cost drivers).
  • Knowledge of various materials replenishment techniques.
  • Develop strategies to support the Company's future growth and ensuring that operations meet the Company's growth requirements.
  • Provide expert leadership to all phases of procurement and operations by leading personnel to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with the Company's overall strategy.
  • Monitor actual performance against performance goals to ensure productive execution of strategies, SOPs and tasks.
  • Drive process improvement to optimize productivity and efficiency by collaborating on policy deployment and compliance such as ISO-9001/AS9120, Lean Warehousing, Parker Stratoflex TSO requirements or other such techniques, quality, cost reduction, cycle time, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.
  • Help identify future leaders, mentor, and develop the leadership capabilities of the team.
  • Adept at data modeling inventory, operations and supply chain business and activities for decision making, cause and effect and predictive analysis
  • Other duties assigned by management.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or 5 years' experience in warehouse and operation management required
Experience: 4 plus years of experience; general aviation preferred
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge in technical software a plus!
Certifications & Licenses: Must have working knowledge AS-9120 regulations, LEAN techniques, or Six Sigma.
