Sawnee EMC is seeking a General Clerk III - Financial Services to retrieve and deliver mail, file/scan documents, operate office equipment, and assist internal customers. Requires: high school diploma or equivalency, valid Georgia Driver's License, basic office/computer skills, and 12 months' related experience or equivalent education. Position is full-time; must be flexible to work irregular hours, to include evenings and weekends.

PURPOSE
  1. The retrieval and delivery of corporate mail.
  2. Demonstrating an awareness that the job exists to effectively serve each and every member, and at every opportunity to achieve increased customer and public understanding for support of Sawnee EMC.
DEMANDS
  1. High school diploma or equivalency.
  2. Requires valid Georgia Driver's License.
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Sound office skills, with a minimum of twelve months' working experience in filing and general office procedures; or equivalent advanced education.
  2. Proficiency with computers, including but not limited to Microsoft Windows and Office software.
  3. Communication skills to enable successful understanding and communication within the position, as well as for attending to the expressed or implied needs of internal customers.
  4. Regular and reliable attendance record.
  5. Ability to pass Cooperative's physical exam for position.
  6. Flexible work hours as necessitated by circumstances, on-call functions, and irregular work shifts.
  7. Flexibility for irregular work hours, including evenings and weekends as necessitated by circumstances.
  8. Position requires that this individual report in time of natural disaster and weather-related emergency and recognizing that the Corporation (SEMC) is an electric utility.
  9. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner is an essential job function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Utilizing alphabetical and numerical filing systems, compiles, files, stores, scans and retrieves corporate documents in order to complete daily mail delivery.
  2. Operates computers, storage and reproduction equipment, and other office equipment.
  3. Classifies such items as documents and files according to document type, member, account, or other criteria.
  4. Performs basic equipment maintenance operations, such as changing cartridges, reels, tapes, files, loading and removing paper and printouts, correcting minor or routine operation problems.
  5. Maintains current knowledge on advances and changes in SEMC policies programs, products, and services, and in the utility industry in general. Keeps informed on new developments within occupational field.
  6. The job requires the ability to work under frequent deadline pressures, multiple changing priorities, and frequent interruptions, along with assisting customers as needed.

PRINCICPAL ACCOUNTABILITES
  1. This position reports to the Director of Accounting Services
  2. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities or direct reports.
  3. Requires the reliable and accurate performance of duties.
  4. Fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  5. Internal Communication: This position's internal customers consist of all SEMC employees
  6. External Communication: This position's external customers include all SEMC members and the public.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  1. Job consists of inside-office, workstation conditions, requiring extensive sitting as well as computer and equipment operation. Also, some outdoor conditions require delivery of mail throughout the facility and its buildings.
  2. Duties require the physical abilities of walking, driving, sitting, keyboarding, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, hearing, speaking, writing, operation of telephone, operation of miscellaneous office equipment, as well as other defined tasks.
  3. Requires mental ability for frequent interruptions, frequent priority changes, multiple deadline pressures.
  4. Requires the willingness and ability to suggest sound innovative solutions for the improved accomplishment of day-to-day activities and challenges.
  5. The employee is frequently required to lift fifteen (15) pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift thirty (30) pounds.
  6. The vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  7. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
