Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position is located at our Brook Park Ohio facility.

Seeking a project technical lead with 15+ years space flight hardware development experience including requirements derivation and management, lifecycle design, analysis and verification.



Responsibilities

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS

    Decompose higher level project requirements to lower level and understand interplay between subsystem requirements.
  1. Specify commercial components and/or design custom solutions to meet design parameters established by the project requirements
  2. Design, analyze and organize verification documentation
  3. Organize procurement of commercial and custom parts as necessary
  4. Update project technical leads with schedule and task information
  5. Work with technicians to properly assemble, integrate and test systems


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems or related engineering field
  2. Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical personnel on space flight and/or aerospace projects
  3. Experience developing piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID)
  4. Experience writing test plans, procedures and coordinating functional and environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC) across various facilities
  5. Experience with design and analysis of large space craft system verification tooling, fixtures and supporting equipment
  6. Experience working with thermal and structural analysts and ability to provide appropriate system and boundary load conditions
  7. Familiarity with aerospace and/or aerospace related facility projects
  8. Ability to design in solid modeling software a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and phone skills.

Ability to hear normal conversation. One eye (minimum) correctable to 20/20.

Office equipment includes computers (basic excel, PC Data processing), calculators, FAX, copier, scanner, printers. Personal transportation vehicle
