The Opportunity: The Maintenance Department at Facilities and Business Operations is seeking an experienced Electrician II to perform and install both rough-in and finished electrical work for university projects, including new construction and renovations across campus. Key responsibilities include completing CMMS work requests as assigned and ensuring all electrical work meets national and state codes. The ideal candidate will possess journeyman-level expertise in electrical systems, with the ability to specify, build, install, test, and adapt complex electronic and electrical components, as well as perform preventative maintenance to support the university's infrastructure. Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Licensed as an electrician in the State of Florida and 3+ years of relevant experience. For applicants who hold a license in another state (Georgia, North Carolina, or California) which has reciprocity with the State of Florida, they will need to apply to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to get their license approved as a Florida equivalent license. For those applicants who hold a license in a state in which Florida does not have reciprocity, they will have six months to take the examination. Preferred Qualifications:
Health Assessment Required: UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position. Special Instructions to the Applicants: Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business. The anticipated salary range for this position is $26.83 to $35.89. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
