USC Athletics is looking to hire a Student Services Advisor II to join our staff and student community of 600+ individuals. This role counsels and/or provides undergraduate and/or graduate students with student services covering one or more key areas such as admissions, financial aid, academic counseling and advisement, graduation counseling and clearance, records and registration, placement and career services, and student programs. Coordinates delivery of services with appropriate university offices. Position is affiliated with a major academic program, academic department, school or college. This is a specialist position which may lead other student services advisors or may perform highly specialized activities for which an advanced degree is a minimum requirement (e.g., academic counseling and programming and curriculum development). Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Advising, the Student Services Advisor II will provide comprehensive academic support and guidance to student-athletes within the Football and Men's Volleyball programs. This position will play an integral role in promoting academic achievement, personal development, and overall student-athlete success through individualized advising and collaboration with key campus partners. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of NCAA Bylaw 14 and academic eligibility requirements, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. They will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a minimum of three years of experience in transcript analysis, eligibility certification, and academic advising. The successful candidate will also have experience with Academic Performance Program metrics and the ability to analyze and project Academic Progress Rate (APR) and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) outcomes. A master's degree and at least three years of professional experience working directly with student-athletes in an academic setting are required. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential academic challenges, developing effective solutions, and managing multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of the unique culture and academic needs of college student-athletes is strongly preferred. The Student Services Advisor II will work collaboratively with a team of academic advisors, learning specialists, coaches, and additional academic support staff to deliver a holistic student-athlete support experience. The successful candidate must be flexible, adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Experience working in higher education, preferably within a Power Five athletics program, is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the unique culture, demands, and academic support needs of collegiate student-athletes while maintaining a commitment to their growth and success both inside and outside the classroom. This position serves a large student and staff population, must demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for a variety of populations, and is expected to contribute to the program's demonstrated commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all. Hourly Range The hourly rate range for this position is $34.45- $36.54/HR.
