Assignment Duration: 12 months (Possible extension)

Work Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm

Job Description:

The Advanced Cell Engineering (ACE) Hub in the Cell Therapy department at Client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic candidate for a full-time lab-based Scientist II contractor position. The ACE Hub is an interdisciplinary team with a mission to accelerate drug discovery in gRED through the development, application, and enablement of genome engineering and synthetic biology technologies.

The successful candidate will support the needs of the ACE Hub, particularly in the engineering and profiling of cells for cell therapy development and disease modeling used across the Client. They will be expected to work independently and make technical contributions within a dynamic, fast-paced and highly collaborative research environment. This is a one-year position with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities :

Generate engineered cells(including cancer cell lines, iPSCs, and primary cells) using stable integration (both lentivirus and piggybac) and CRISPR gene editing

Transfection/ gene editing optimization

Troubleshoot cell engineering protocols

Characterize engineered cells using genomics and molecular assays

Maintain and quality check cell lines in culture

Requirements:

A self-motivated candidate with a (BS/ MS) + 5 years industry experience, or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or a related discipline.

Qualified candidates must have demonstrable strong mammalian cell culture techniques and ability to generate high-quality data.

Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and will be required to analyze and present data at team meetings.

The candidate should be team-oriented, highly organized both operationally and in silico, with the ability to multi-task across a diverse array of projects, and eager to learn new skills.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with primary T cells and iPSCs.

Prior expertise in some or all of the following: DNA/RNA/Protein extraction and quantification, molecular cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR assay design and screening, FACS, transfection, CRISPR genome editing, siRNA/shRNA, SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, cell-based assays, NGS, and viral vector development/use.

Experience with sequence/data analysis platforms such as Benchling, Snapgene, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism etc. are desirable
