Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: Pensacola, FL 32504

Duration: 3 months (Potential for Extension & Temp-to-Hire)

Shift- Mon- Fri- (10 am - 8:30 pm)


Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join a hospital-based laboratory team in Pensacola, FL. This role is ideal for candidates with recent hospital phlebotomy experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and providing exceptional patient care to individuals of all ages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients ranging from infants to geriatric patients.
  • Complete 40-50 blood draws per day in a hospital setting.
  • Perform inpatient rounds and collect specimens accurately and efficiently.
  • Process and label specimens according to laboratory procedures.
  • Stock and maintain phlebotomy supplies.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Utilize Cerner and other laboratory systems for documentation and specimen tracking.
  • Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure efficient workflow.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
  • Previous hospital phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Experience performing venipuncture independently with strong specimen collection skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Cerner.
  • Experience working in a hospital laboratory environment.


Work Environment

  • Hospital setting.
  • Team-based environment with daily team huddles and assigned floor partners.
  • Standing and walking throughout most of the shift.
  • Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients.


Training

  • 2-4 weeks of training, depending on business needs and candidate experience.

  • TB Test
  • MMR
  • T-DAP
  • Varicella
  • Color Vision Screening
  • Hepatitis B (may be declined)
