The Process Engineer supports the development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes across the Benjamin Moore manufacturing network. This role is responsible for driving process improvements, executing capital and continuous improvement projects, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, and supporting operational excellence initiatives. Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, EHS, Maintenance, Automation, and Engineering teams, the Process Engineer helps ensure the safe, efficient, and consistent production of paint, resins, and coatings while supporting business objectives related to quality, productivity, reliability, and capacity.



Responsibilities

    Support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, process optimization, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify opportunities for improvements in safety, quality, productivity, capacity, and cost.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, EHS, Maintenance, Automation, and Engineering teams to support process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support paint, coatings, and resin manufacturing operations including batch mixing, dispersion, milling, tinting, and filling processes.
  • Manage capital and continuous improvement projects from concept through startup, including scope development, equipment specification, cost estimation, vendor coordination, project execution, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, track budgets, coordinate resources, and communicate project status to stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation including piping and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, work instructions, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
  • Perform equipment evaluations, design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), startup support, and hands-on commissioning activities for new and modified manufacturing systems.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce waste, improve cycle times, increase equipment utilization, improve reliability, and enhance product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Participate in safety observations, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Requires approximately 25% travel to manufacturing facilities to support project activities, process improvements, and operational initiatives.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety procedures.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 1-3 years of process, manufacturing, production, or project engineering experience in chemical, coatings, food, consumer products, or related process manufacturing industries.
  • Experience managing engineering, capital, or continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with data analysis tools, process control systems, or manufacturing software is a plus.
  • Exposure to process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering design software.


Pay Range

USD $95,600.00 - USD $122,300.00 /Yr.
