Responsibilities & Expectations:

IPS is seeking a Continuous Improvement (CIPS)-Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our team where your expertise and dedication will be valued and drive our success. The HSE-CIPS Specialist drives the responsibility for continuous improvement and safety to all levels of the organization. This role will actively engage with site leaders and employees to deliver excellence in these areas, as well as own a variety of day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.

  • Focus on creating a best-in-class employee work environment, with clear communication, and engagement from all levels of management
  • Maintain and keep up to date with the latest HSE/CIPS procedures.
  • Perform 6S, continuous improvement, and other initiatives in support of CIPS
  • Work cross departmentally and with senior management to accomplish CIPS goals.
  • Lead change and eliminate waste through process improvement initiatives
  • Update performance indicators and HSE dashboards guaranteeing quality of data, and communicate information (risk mapping, significant events) appropriately
  • Encourage employees to choose practices that will contribute to a safer work environment
  • Inspect the facility to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, noncompliance and recommend corrective or preventive measures when necessary
  • Notify service center personnel in environmental drives and campaigns
  • Attend trainings discussing new regulations and safe practices
  • Coordinate and maintain OSHA and EPA compliance programs
  • Participation in steering committees, and senior-level presentations when needed
  • Collaborates with the accounting department team, at month-end, quarter-end and year-end to assist with various analyses and/or reports
  • Collaborates closely with the managers of HSE, quality and operations
  • Report to and assist the Area General Manager with day-to-day operations
  • Update and publish various metrics, i.e. dashboards
  • Provide administrative support by generating documents, presentations, and spreadsheets as necessary
  • Support additional operational/administrative tasks as needed to ensure site success

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in HSE experience preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in Continuous Improvement preferred
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite tools
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to comprehend and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Participates in meetings
  • Ability to write clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information
  • Ability to read and comprehend short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to define and deal with problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Determination to move operational initiatives forward, using performance metrics and benchmarks to track progress.
  • Ability to get 'hands-on' with the business while understanding the processes needed to deliver results
  • Strong project management skills and process orientation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be willing to confidently submit to the background and drug screening process.
