Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Effectively coordinates all aspects of the trauma performance improvement and patient safety processes including systems and peer review processes. The P.I. Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance of processes related to multidisciplinary trauma peer review and internal trauma systems issues including case reviews, identification of issues (provider and system), tracking and trending of complications/audit filters/issues, and maintenance of appropriate files and data systems. Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness and problem solving skills. Demonstrates detailed knowledge of trauma hospital PIPS requirements, the trauma standard of care across the continuum and the operations of the hospital trauma system.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement principles and concepts; experience using CQI tools and techniques strongly preferred
  • Must have demonstrated prior work experience multitasking in a fast paced environment
  • Minimum of 3-5 years clinical trauma nursing experience, e.g., emergency department, operating room, surgical-trauma intensive care unit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and interact effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including community leaders, physicians, patients and families
  • Computer skill and experience using MSOffice products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and information systems in general, with the ability to manage and produce charts, tables, and graphs
  • Bachelor of Science, Nursing
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment in all situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, CPHQ
  • MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NURSING

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support
