Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 - Triage

Inova Vascular Surgery - Triage is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to join the team. This role will be full time day position, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5pm

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Experience: 2 years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• This is not a patient facing position. Candidate will need to be comfortable with triaging basic requests with support of a team of RNs.
