Warehouse Clerk / Shipping & Receiving Associate - Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or the ability to complete employer-provided certification.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, shipping, or receiving experience preferred.



Warehouse Clerk / Shipping & Receiving Associate Skills + Experience Requirements

  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred; willingness to complete forklift certification training required.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems or ERP software such as SAP is a plus.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to accurately read pick lists, work orders, shipping documents, and receiving paperwork.
  • Basic math skills for inventory and material verification.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.
  • Flexible to work between multiple warehouse locations as business needs require.
  • Reliable attendance with a stable work history.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workplace safety guidelines.


Warehouse Clerk / Shipping & Receiving Associate Job Duties

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials using established receiving procedures.
  • Enter inventory transactions and receiving information into SAP.
  • Issue materials to work orders and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer and internal orders using pick lists.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.
  • Ship materials to domestic and international destinations while preparing required documentation.
  • Package products using boxes, crates, skids, and pallets to ensure safe transportation.
  • Verify shipments for accuracy before distribution.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Organize, upload, and maintain electronic packing lists and shipping documentation.
  • Move, stage, store, and organize materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Build, repair, and maintain shipping pallets as needed.
  • Place large materials into warehouse racking safely and efficiently.
  • Remove scrap materials, empty recycling containers, and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Assist other warehouse departments as workload demands.
  • Maintain warehouse reports, shipping metrics, and cost-saving documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures.



Warehouse Clerk / Shipping & Receiving Associate Physical Capabilities

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, squat, twist, reach, and kneel.
  • Safely operate forklifts, powered pallet jacks, and manual material handling equipment.
  • Perform repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work in an active warehouse environment with changing priorities.
  • Safely navigate warehouse aisles, loading docks, and storage areas.
