DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, exemplifies customer service skills in dealing with food related issues with customers primarily by phone or occasionally in person. Assists patients in making menu selections by phone. Communicates effectively and clearly over the phone. Acts as a resource for Food Service employees as assigned/needed. Directs work to ensure all meal service tasks are completed. Navigates through and uses department computer resources. Performs clerical functions related to patient meals and maintain diet office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • One (1) year food service and/or related experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting or combination of education and experience.

  • Food service/hospitality experience.

  • Computer literate.

  • Previous phone-based experience with superb, friendly patient service skills. Excellent customer skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

  • Complies with the University of California, San Diego Health (UCSDH) Principles of Community.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,910 - $65,793 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $25.34 - $31.51

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
