Description The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking to hire a full-time Administrative Coordinator. You will provide administrative and operational support for research faculty and programs. This role serves as a key partner to investigators, research staff, and department leadership by coordinating research activities, supporting grant administration, organizing educational events, and facilitating collaboration across multiple teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate research meetings, seminars, tumor boards, and special events
  • Provide administrative support to faculty conducting sarcoma and musculoskeletal research
  • Assist with grant proposal preparation, progress reports, funding applications, and compliance related activities
  • Track research publications, patents, funding opportunities, and project milestones
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, reimbursements, memberships, and faculty support activities
  • Maintain research databases, registries, and documentation
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and orientation activities for research personnel
  • Serve as liaison between faculty, departmental administrators, sponsors, and collaborators across UCLA
  • Assist with research communications, newsletters, websites, and annual reporting initiatives
  • Coordinate activities related to research space, equipment, resources, and laboratory operations
Salary range: $30.36/hr - $43.49/hr
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health related or business administration program (strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • Minimum one year of administrative and/or project management support (strongly preferred)
  • Experience operating a computer and knowledge of software applications for word processing, email, and internet navigation
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and diplomacy
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work with high degree of accuracy
  • Skill in preparation of accurate and timely reports and statistical informatio
