Provides safe and efficient routine and non-routine maintenance to FedEx exp aircraft in accordance with FedEx policies and procedures and FAA regulations using machine tools such as drill presses, lathes, and milling machines to rework, finish, and produce metal parts. Essential Functions
Minimum Education High school diploma/GED. Minimum Experience Thirty- six (36) months machinist experience in a machine shop. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of machine shop maintenance operations and procedures required. Have a working knowledge of all aspects in machining techniques, operations, and procedures used in a machine shop environment. Knowledge and experience in the servicing of lathes, mills and surface grinders. Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy aircraft related components, parts and equipment. Job Conditions Must be willing to work odd work weeks, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays. FAA covered safety sensitive position. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Complete Welding certifications, and all required OJT, Aircraft and Machine Shop training to obtain FAA Repairman's certificate 18 months from hire date .
