Software Development Engineer

Software Development Engineer (CSG Systems Inc. d/b/a CSG, Englewood, CO) Design, analyze, modify, and debug CSG software applications. Perform release testing. Interface with end-user to define requirements and complete technical documentation. Assist with detailed architectural designs for software solutions and provide guidance on complex software development assignments. Design, develop, and test new and enhanced software solutions using a variety of different technologies including Java, Angular, Perl, C++, Python, and SQL. Research new technology and/or development tools. Perform product design activities on application software including performing extensive research and analysis. Implement researched designs. Perform database design and programming assignments. Perform operational duties on software installation and delivery during maintenance windows and post release support. Engage in cross team activities ensuring completion of projects on schedule. Implement Unit and System testing on applications. Create and maintain both customer and technical documentation for tools and processes created or modified. Provide customer support for existing and new monitoring infrastructure. Telecommuting is permitted 100%. Position reports to company HQ in Englewood, CO. Salary: $120,536 - $144,054.08 per year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field, plus 3 years of professional experience in a related occupation Must also have some experience or education with the following skills: Programming languages including Angular, Node.js, C++, Java, and Perl; Agile development methodology; Service-based architecture, RES Tful services, and building scalable micro-services; Development of highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web software deployments; Web standards, protocols, and secure communications; Data security and data privacy best practices, and their implementation into software solutions; Client and server architecture; SQL and working with relational databases; Kafka/Redis; and Chef configuration management software.
