While this is a remote position, the successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental US.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deployment of performance reporting/dashboard applications systems to include supporting backend database management for FedEx Freight.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide hands on technical leadership in identifying and developing application solutions that measure, track, and support improved business performance
  • Model and maintain database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, packages and procedures, to meet application requirements for optimal user experience
  • Oversee and perform development activities from gathering requirements and designing solutions, through developing code/reports, to testing and release/deployment
  • Serve as team lead liaison with end-users, project stakeholders, and support partners to identify needs, goals, and business objectives
  • Plan, implement, and support department SQL Server database and Spotfire Server to include backup recovery
  • Perform testing to identify early application flaws and participate in design and code reviews
  • Participate in maintenance, application loads, and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Recommend procedure standards to assure application design and coding is produced with proper integrity, security and performance
  • Provide technical assistance and mentoring to other systems development professionals
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science or other quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years' experience in performance reporting/dashboard systems and application development with a preference in Transportation
  • Advanced experience with SQL, Spotfire, Informatica, Crystal Reports or related programming/tool platform
  • Advanced experience with relational database systems (e.g. MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Terradata, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Leadership, Analytical, problem solving, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to travel

Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

Preferred experience developing and supporting enterprise data, reporting, and analytics solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. Working knowledge of Azure and Databricks platforms, including data integration, transformation, visualization, and automation is strongly preferred.

Actual pay is determined by job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. Pay Range: $74,814.00 - $141,847.00 per year

Illinois Pay Ranges: Effingham, Kankakee, Lincoln, Quincy, Rockford, Aurora $80,050 - $126,479; Bolingbrook, Chicago Heights, Des Plaines, Elmhurst, Forest View, Joliet, Schaumburg, Summit-Argo, Zion $89,777 - $141,847

New York Pay Ranges: Plattsburgh, Buffalo, Watertown, North Chili, East Syracuse, Nichols $80,050 - $126,479; Bethpage, Montgomery, West Babylon $89,777 - $141,847

New Jersey Job Postings: $74,814.00 - $115,812.00 per year
This compensation range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting pay range in NJ. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay is determined by experience relative to the job, market level, specific location and other job-related factors permitted by law. Regular full & part-time employees (who complete 91 days of employment and work a minimum average of 12 hours per week) are eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and/or vision coverage, tuition reimbursement. Full/part-time employees who are age 21 are eligible for 401(k) after one month of employment.
