Job Summary

The Senior Ethics & Compliance Analyst plays a key role in advancing UC Davis Health's culture of ethics, integrity, and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the General Compliance Program Manager, this position leads and supports high-impact compliance initiatives, analyzes complex regulatory requirements, and partners with stakeholders across the organization to identify and mitigate compliance risk.

This role oversees critical compliance programs, including Exclusion Monitoring, Vendor Credentialing, and Conflict of Interest, while supporting additional compliance initiatives as organizational priorities evolve. The Senior Ethics & Compliance Analyst researches and interprets University, UC Office of the President (UCOP), and federal and state regulations to develop guidance, evaluate risk, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Success in this role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Ethics & Compliance Analyst collaborates with leaders across UC Davis Health to analyze data, develop practical recommendations, and communicate complex compliance requirements to diverse audiences. This position exercises a high degree of independence and sound judgment while supporting operational excellence and protecting the integrity of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload a license and/or certification if required for the position.

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent/training experience in Healthcare Compliance
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Healthcare Compliance
  • Experience conducting complex data analysis using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience researching, interpreting, and applying Healthcare Compliance and conflict of interest principles
  • Experience developing, implementing, and delivering compliance or regulatory training and education programs
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a highly regulated environment
  • Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, including faculty, leadership, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills to work independently with all levels of University personnel, including management and faculty

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent certification
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Law, or a related field
  • Advanced experience interpreting healthcare compliance regulations and conflict of interest policies, including reviewing and resolving complex conflict of interest inquiries
  • Experience presenting compliance-related information to diverse audiences, including executive leadership
  • Three (3) or more years of experience developing and delivering healthcare compliance training programs

Department Overview

The UC Davis Health (UCDH) Compliance and Privacy Department is responsible for providing oversight for the UC Davis Health System's Compliance and Privacy programs. The department engages in a variety of activities to promote and ensure ethical and proper behavior in all matters related to UCDH business operations and to establish effective controls that promote adherence to applicable laws, regulations, rules, guidelines, requirements, procedures, and directives regarding Federal, State, and Private health services. The UCDH Compliance and Privacy Department provides advice and assistance with compliance requirements and obligations of the UC Davis Health System to the Vice Chancellor-Health and Human Services and Dean- School of Medicine, Chief Executive Officer- UCO Medical Center, and other UC Davis Health System deans, executives, and administrators.

Work Environment

  • UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco-free campus effective January 1, 2014.
