About the Role

The Managing Director, Delivery oversees the execution of strategic company goals through effective management of end-to-end program execution and contracted delivery for TRSS customers in a specified territory, with accountability for relevant contract performance, stakeholder engagement, and growth opportunities. This role ensures that the assigned territory teams comply with applicable regulations, standards, and contractual requirements, manage budgets, resources, and timelines, and deliver high-quality, tradecraft-aligned products through disciplined data-driven decision-making. The position develops cross-functional teams, strengthens communication across customers and internal partners, and champions TRSS core values in all work.

As the Managing Director, Delivery, you will also contribute to a variety of areas, including:

Program Management

  • Ensuring effectiveness across territory programs by consistently streamlining operations.
  • Improving performance through management of program strategies aligned with customer mission objectives.
  • Confirming program operations within assigned territories run effectively with efficient resolution of all contract-related issues and opportunities by leading strategic customer relationship planning.
  • Ensuring financial health of all programs within assigned territory by developing and monitoring contract budgets, ensuring alignment with project proposals and contractual requirements through cost analysis, identification of potential overruns, implementation of cost-saving measures, guiding pricing strategies, proposal development, and negotiations, and coordinating closely with program managers, Business Development, and Finance teams to align financial goals.
  • Implementing data-driven management systems to effectively solve problems and support informed program management decisions.
  • Designing change management processes to effectively address program needs and position teams for future success through proactively identifying potential risks.
  • Leading required program management review activities at the territory level, ensuring assigned territory teams meet TRSS requirements related to transparent data collection, consistent financial reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Maintaining an expert-level understanding of TRSS solutions and associated costs to enable teams to effectively design solutions for current and future customers.
  • Ensuring program management teams effectively coordinate with all relevant TRSS stakeholders and appropriately implement operational procedures to improve operational performance.
  • Ensuring program management teams effectively remediate issues in response to customer issues.

Delivery Management

  • Developing territory-level strategies to continually deliver innovative value while achieving financial targets.
  • Ensuring program management teams meet, or exceed, all delivery responsibilities including on-time delivery, customer engagement, customer satisfaction, contract renewal, growth targets, resource allocations, and financial sustainability.
  • Lead strategic planning across territory teams on data, product, technology, and methodology developments at TRSS by marshaling appropriate company resources to respond to customer challenges and opportunities across territory teams.
  • Championing innovative approaches to customer deployment.
  • Ensuring TRSS develops the tools and data needed to support contracted delivery requirements while identifying opportunities to apply advancements to customer deliverables.
  • Organizing customer engagement efforts across assigned territory teams to ensure all team members are positioned to identify business development opportunities with current and future customers and new markets.
  • Managing and encouraging long-term relationship building between Delivery, Technology, and Business Development to support pipeline capture goals.
  • Conceptualizing progressively complex, cost-effective value enhancement projects for execution by program management to support enterprise delivery and growth goals.
  • Providing territory-level strategic input to the TRSS product development process to identify cost-effective solutions for customers.

Personnel Management

  • Serving as the primary coordinating force between assigned territory programs and TRSS, positioning all team members to excel.
  • Ensuring multiple cross-functional teams achieve or exceed program objectives by leading a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on customer outcomes.
  • Planning and allocating personnel resources across multiple programs, ensuring staffing levels meet project demands and organizational goals.
  • Leading cross-functional project teams, promoting professional growth and high performance, and overseeing regular performance evaluation processes.
  • Guiding territory staff to effectively communicate and deliver the TRSS value proposition with a robust understanding of our data, tools, and expertise.
  • Collaborating with HR to attract, recruit, and onboard qualified personnel by assisting with retention strategies that maintain a stable workforce.
  • Serving as a role model who asks questions, works through obstacles, learns from feedback, and finds inspiration in collaborating with colleagues and customers to implement innovative solutions.
  • Championing TRSS core values and Thomson Reuters Ways of Working, while ensuring all team members demonstrate our values in delivery, solutions development, and company initiatives.
  • Ensuring all team members maintain adherence to industry ethics including, but not limited to, privacy protections, data use restrictions, and communication of both derogatory and exculpatory information.

About You

You are a good fit for the role of Managing Director, Delivery if you have/are:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in program management.
  • Ability to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within 18 months of employment.
  • A growth mindset to determine opportunities to support the client in other efforts.
  • Demonstration of progressive program/project leadership experience including strategizing, planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project delivery team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus, ability to support team leadership, and establish strong, collaborative working relationships with customers, internal partners, senior managers, and peers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is essential to comply with government contract, agency, or federal government requirements.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $158,100 USD - $293,500 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
