Do you have experience in the building materials or construction industry and enjoy helping customers find the right solutions for their projects?We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team in Eastern Idaho. This role is ideal for a driven, customer-focused professional who enjoys working directly with builders, contractors, developers, architects, and project managers while creating opportunities for long-term business growth.As a key member of our sales team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, leveraging your industry expertise to identify needs, recommend solutions, and manage projects from concept through completion. You'll also play a leadership role by mentoring newer sales professionals and contributing to the ongoing success of the team.What You'll DoDevelop and Grow Customer RelationshipsBuild and maintain strong relationships with residential, multifamily, and commercial construction customers.Identify customer needs and recommend products and services that provide value and support project success.Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process, ensuring exceptional customer service and support.Continuously expand your customer network through prospecting, referrals, and business development activities.Drive Sales GrowthResearch, identify, and secure new business opportunities within your territory.Prepare and present professional proposals, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.Generate sales by effectively communicating the features, benefits, and value of our products and services.Collaborate with customers, architects, engineers, and internal teams to develop solutions that meet project requirements.Manage Complex ProjectsDevelop sales contracts for residential, multifamily, and commercial construction projects.Coordinate project specifications and requirements between customers and internal design or technical teams.Troubleshoot and resolve field issues while maintaining strong customer relationships.Ensure projects move smoothly from planning through completion.Provide Leadership and Industry ExpertiseAct as a mentor and resource for less experienced sales team members.Assist with training and development initiatives within the sales organization.Lead meetings, share best practices, and provide support during the Sales Manager's absence when needed.Stay up to date on industry trends, market conditions, products, and selling techniques through ongoing training and professional development.Safety and ComplianceFollow all company safety procedures and actively contribute to a culture of workplace safety.Participate in safety meetings and recommend improvements when appropriate.What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of two (2) years of successful sales experience.Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong customer-service mindset.Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.Preferred QualificationsExperience in building materials, construction products, lumber, windows, doors, roofing, siding, or related industries.Experience working with builders, contractors, architects, engineers, and project managers.Knowledge of residential, multifamily, and commercial construction projects.Why Join Our Team?Competitive compensation with performance-driven earning potential.Opportunity to work with a respected and growing industry leader.Career advancement opportunities and leadership development.Collaborative team environment that values innovation and customer service.Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and more.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsWork is performed in both office and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.Frequent travel within the assigned territory and customer locations is required.Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds on occasion.Position requires driving and visiting customer job sites, offices, and project locations.Who Succeeds in This Role?The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder, problem-solver, and self-starter who enjoys helping customers succeed while growing a book of business.
