Description and Requirements

Technology Strategy & Roadmap
Investigate and track emerging Software RAID technologies, assessing their strategic alignment with Lenovo's storage subsystem roadmap to guide future product directions.

Cross-Functional Architecture & Design
Partner with cross-functional teams (uEFI, BMC, Backplane, Hardware, and System Validation) to robust Software RAID solutions, ensuring seamless end-to-end interoperability across all server platforms.

Implementation, Validation, & Debug
Drive the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, including: developing comprehensive test strategies, executing validation plan, reporting detailed results, debugging the defects, and continuously improving test coverage, automation, and debug methodologies.

End-to-End Lifecycle Support
Provide full technical ownership throughout the product lifecycle-from advising on customer requirements and pre-sales architecture, to addressing manufacturing firmware issues, and resolving field-reported design escalations.

Knowledge Leadership & Team Development
growing through structured technical training sessions, internal presentations, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge-base documentation to drive continuous organizational learning.

Innovation & Efficiency
Leverage AI-driven analytics and automation frameworks to optimize test execution, defect prediction, and root-cause analysis, achieving measurable improvements in development velocity and engineering efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in the storage industry, with deep technical expertise in the following areas:
    • Software RAID stack and RAID/HBA controller architectures
    • SAS Expanders, JBOD enclosures, and NVMe switch fabrics
    • NVMe storage devices, storage backplanes, and external storage subsystems
  • Strong working knowledge of server hardware platforms, including:
    • UEFI firmware and BIOS-level interactions
    • BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) interfaces and IPMI protocols
    • Major enterprise operating system environments (Windows Server, Linux distributions, and VMware ESXi)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development and diagnostic tools to improve daily engineering productivity
  • Proven ability in self-directed learning and independent task management, combined with strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both engineering peers and global stakeholders.
