Litigation Paralegal II

The Litigation Paralegal II reports to the Sr. Manager, Legal Department and plays a critical role in the management and administration of the Company's litigation portfolio. The position is responsible for supporting all phases of assigned litigation, including matter intake, investigation support, document preservation and collection, litigation tracking, reporting, invoice management, and coordination with outside counsel retained to represent the Company and its employees. The Litigation Paralegal II monitors ongoing case developments, facilitates communication among internal business partners and outside counsel, and helps ensure litigation matters are managed efficiently and in alignment with departmental objectives.

Litigation Management:

Under the supervision and direction of the Sr. Manager, Legal Department:
* Assist with day-to-day handling of assigned litigation matters, tracking developments in pending litigation, and maintain appropriate communications with law firms and others retained to defend the Company and its employees.
* Review and scope assigned document production requests; identify required resources and confer with outside counsel on most efficient approach to comply within all parameters and deadlines given.
* Oversee and assist with the creation and maintenance of case and other legal databases; collect and/or identify data for input into legal databases.
* Assist outside counsel in interviewing and preparing witnesses for depositions.
* Partner with HR, Accounting, IT, and other professionals to support litigation activities, including assisting with tracking and updating recommended reserves for pending litigation matters, coordinating legal holds, and tracking preservation responses, and managing document requests.

Coordination of Legal Services:

* Serve as point of contact for internal business units, departments, and functions regarding assigned litigation matters and regular, recurring legal services and support.
* Work with the Sr. Manager, Legal Department to coordinate the provision of legal services and support for assigned matters, especially to the extent they are not assigned to internal or outside attorneys.

Bachelor's degree and at least two years' experience or Paralegal Certification and at least four years' experience
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

• Exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions. Must understand business implications of decisions.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently and take corrective action.
• Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to establish credibility, build trust, and work effectively with internal business partners, outside counsel, and employees at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines, adjust to sudden changes in workflow, and maintain high quality standards.
• Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner.
• Proficient with computers, including but not limited to Microsoft software products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).Database management and similar experience is a plus.
