Summary

The IT Lifecycle Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficacy of technical asset deployment and inventory (both hardware and software) - developing and supporting inventory management controls throughout the technology environment. This includes management of asset lifecycle - acquisition, warranty tracking, refresh planning, and retirement/disposal. The position supports Mary Free Bed staff working at all locations (Grand Rapids hospital campus, off-site facilities, and remote/home workspaces) - ensuring that clinical and business workflows are supported through the successful deployment of enterprise technology.

Essential Job Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain IT inventory management procedures/controls

o Catalog and maintain inventory of physical hardware assets

o Catalog and maintain inventory of software assets

o Catalog and maintain inventory of general IT tools and supplies

o Develop and promote processes to maintain accurate technology inventory and monitor compliance

* Manage lifecycle of physical hardware

o Research/recommend new models/upgrades of technical assets

o Acquisition/purchasing of technical assets

o Manage the refresh cycle of technical assets including assistance with budget development

o Coordinate asset deployment tasks

o Ensure proper disposal of retired assets (including data recovery/erasure, resale, or recycle/disposal)

* Mobile device management (tablets, smartphones, etc.)

o Support the configuration and deployment of mobile assets

o Support the development, optimization, and adoption of mobile clinical workflows

* Deploy technology throughout the Mary Free Bed System

o Configure and deliver technology assets to users at all Mary Free Bed locations

o Validate workflows upon delivery of new technical assets

o Ensure positive customer service by orienting staff to new technical tools and workflows

* Establish and maintain positive and effective vendor relationships

o Ensure optimal pricing

o Coordinate equipment quoting in support of hospital-wide project planning

* Other duties as assigned

Customer Service Responsibilities

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement

Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.

Essential Job Qualifications

* An associate degree preferred or equivalent background and work experience in the computer field

* Experience within an enterprise-scale IT service desk environment preferred

* Experience deploying IT hardware - including but not limited to laptops, desktops, displays, printers, scanners, and mobile devices

* Proven experience working with IT service desk/inventory software tools

* Working knowledge of license compliance

* Ability to generate and interpret data reporting

* Proven information management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask

* Excellent customer service skills

* Ability to interact effectively with all staff (non-technical and technical)

* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
