ChristianaCare is seeking a Manager of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.

In this position, you will work with a dynamic team in this patient centered facility. The rehabilitation experience at ChristianaCare Health System offers a strong team approach, frequent interdisciplinary interaction, ongoing mentoring, state of the art equipment and professional level educational opportunities.

Primary Function

The Manager, Rehabilitation Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and operational management for the daily rehabilitation services provided at the Wilmington Rehabilitation Services Outpatient Site. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting caregiver development, and driving operational and financial excellence across Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Therapeutic Recreation services.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide direct clinical evaluation and treatment services for patients referred to rehabilitation programs
  • Ensure accurate interpretation, documentation, and communication of patient evaluation and treatment outcomes
  • Deliver clinical oversight and guidance to rehabilitation caregivers providing patient care
  • Promote evidence-based practice and advance rehabilitation programming across the organization
  • Foster excellence in patient experience through compassionate, patient-centered care

Operational Management

  • Direct the day-to-day operations of Rehabilitation Services, including PT, OT, and SLP
  • Monitor program effectiveness and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes
  • Provide leadership for clinical documentation standards, billing compliance, and audit readiness
  • Respond promptly to patient and caregiver concerns, ensuring appropriate resolution and follow-up

Talent Management & Development

  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation activities for rehabilitation caregivers
  • Assess caregiver competencies and develop individualized professional development plans
  • Manage performance evaluation processes, including quarterly check-ins, merit recommendations, career ladder progression, continuing education oversight, and caregiver engagement initiatives
  • Support students, volunteers, and academic partnerships while maintaining strong relationships with educational institutions

Financial & Regulatory Oversight

  • Manage the fiscal operations and budgetary performance of Rehabilitation Services
  • Maintain current knowledge of rehabilitation regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other accrediting and regulatory agencies
  • Lead departmental readiness activities for surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews
  • Oversee completion of annual system requirements, including safety training, emergency preparedness, CPR/AED certification, fit testing, and other mandatory education programs

Qualifications

Required

  • BS, MS, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
  • At least five (5) years of direct clinical experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Licensure or license eligibility in the State of Delaware as a Physical Therapist
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation operations, patient care standards, and regulatory requirements

Preferred

  • Leadership or management experience within a rehabilitation or healthcare environment
  • Experience with Joint Commission, and other regulatory/accreditation standards
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Annual Compensation Range $110,177.60 - $176,280.00 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
